Okay, so here is our big news!!! We have CHANGED travel agencies for our DC trip, which means big savings for you!!! The NEW price is $570 per head !!! See further down for more info regarding more than 4, or less than 4 folks in your party.

WHY THE CHANGE?
It was discovered this week that parking was overlooked by our previous agency, and each family would have to pay $60 per vehicle to park their car at the hotel.
Got to talking to a friend who went to DC with their school group recently, and highly recommended their agency. After speaking with them, I felt confident in their 30 years of personally taking school groups (from our area especially, including the school within walking distance of our home!!) to DC with their decades- long, family owned company. This includes taking Briarwood Christian School in Birmingham for 30 yrs, where our friends attend.
Trip is still 5 days, 4 nights, and includes all of the same venues, so no worries, there!!
Now, for the really exciting news:
LODGING:
-we will be staying at a regular hotel vs, suites w kitchenette, because we now have 11 meals included in our trip, so no need to cook! We will be staying at the very basic, Best Western, Springfield, VA. More meals, but lower price! Sweet! TRANSPORTATION:
-we will be shuttled via motor coach/ tour bus all day, every day, so no need for us to find our own way around! We will be using the metro one day for the sole purpose of letting the kids have the experience! This was per the suggestion of the thoughtful folks at the travel agency. Everyone is responsible for driving/flying from home to DC, and back home.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE?
Anyone. Remember, FTRU is not a "group", we are a resource that allows homeschoolers around the country to travel at a group rate. Not a homeschooler? No worries!
TODDLERS AND BABIES? Yup! Ages three and younger, are FREE, however, you are responsible for their meals.

HOW DO WE FIND EACH OTHER?
-We will meet at the hotel for our trip kick-off meeting at ELEVEN a.m. ( EASTERN TIME !!) on Monday, but lunch is on your own, so eat, beforehand! Stay tuned for where in the hotel to meet. We will start touring at 1pm!!!!
FEE SCHEDULE:
-non-refundable deposit goes toward the price of the trip, and is $100 per immediate family. Extended family needs to pay their own $100 non-refundable deposit. Deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE.

-August 1, 2015 $100 non refundable deposit per immediate family
-Sept 1, 2015 ($200 per family)
-Oct 1, 2015 (5% of your family's total)
-Nov 1, 2015 (5% of your family's total)
-Dec 1, 2015 (5% of your family's total)
-Jan 1, 2016 (5% of your family's total)
-Feb 1, 2016 (10% of your family's total)
-March 1 , 2016 (10% of your family's total)
-April 1, 2016 (15% of your family's total)
-May 1, 2016 (15% of your family's total)
-June 1, 2016 (15% of your family's total)
-July 1, 2016 (15% of your family's total/ balance)
DO WE NEED A MINIMUM TO GO? We no longer require a minimum to go, but the more the merrier! Let's show this agency how awesome Field Trips R Us is, and how much we appreciate their great price, by participating! (If we have less than 50 people go, everyone will be required to pay a stipend of $40 per person to offset the cost of the bus, but we already have a lot of interest in the NEW price, so I doubt seriously this will need to be implemented.)
COST:
$570 per head if you are in a group of 4. Need more than 4 in a room?? No worries now! The new hotel has adjoining rooms, so if you need one, first come, first served!!! This hotel also has a surcharge if you have less than 4 in a room, but it is SO much cheaper than before, my goodness, it is almost too good to be true! Only have three to a room?? Then you are a triple, which equals $600 a head. Two in a room = $676 a head, and one in a room, equals $900. Remember, if you have 4 in a room, your price is a low $570 per head!! Adjoining rooms are first come, first served.
PARKING:
-parking/ wifi: FREE parking and wifi! Remember, we found out this week that the previous place was going to charge us $60 per vehicle to park! Somehow, this got by our previous agency.
HANDICAP ACCESSIBILITY: No worries, Mulvihill tours will be with us to help us on, and off the buses, dropping us off at the front of the venues!
OTHER EXPENSES? :
This trip is ALL inclusive. It covers all fees, parking, food (except one meal, which will be lunch on your own at Williamsburg, Merchants Square food court), transportation during the week, and lodging. Shopping money is on your own.
CANCELLATIONS: If the trip is canceled for ANY reason, everyone will receive a refund. If you back out on your end, you loose your deposit, since it is non-refundable.
ITINERARY: (Specific times/date will not be available until closer time to travel. The venues need money from the agency, who needs money from me, who needs money from YOU :) )
